Password Generator is a 100% free, browser-based utility that enables you to generate strong random passwords and passphrases. Unlike traditional cloud converters, all processing executes locally on your device with zero server uploads, delivering immediate results and ironclad data privacy.
About the Password Generator
Create passwords that are genuinely hard to crack. Passwords are generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), a cryptographically secure random source, with unbiased selection so every character is equally likely. Nothing is sent over the network or stored.
Prefer something you can remember? Switch to passphrase mode to combine random words, such as "orbit-velvet-candle-harbor", which is long, strong and easier to type.
How to use the Password Generator
- Choose Password or Passphrase mode.

Frequently asked questions
How long should my password be?
At least 12–16 characters for most accounts, and 20+ for important ones like email and password managers. Length adds more strength than complexity.
What does entropy mean?
Entropy measures unpredictability in bits. Each extra bit doubles the number of guesses an attacker needs. Around 60 bits is reasonable, 80+ bits is strong and 100+ bits is excellent.
Are generated passwords stored anywhere?
No. They are created locally in your browser and disappear when you leave the page. Save them in a password manager.
