Full years are counted from the birth date to the target date, then full months from the last birthday, then the leftover days. If the day of the month has not been reached yet, one month is borrowed and the days of the previous month are added.
How are 29 February birthdays handled?
In non-leap years the birthday is treated as 28 February for the next-birthday countdown. The exact age calculation always uses real calendar dates.
