HTML Formatter is a 100% free, browser-based utility that enables you to beautify or minify html code with clean indentation. Unlike traditional cloud converters, all processing executes locally on your device with zero server uploads, delivering immediate results and ironclad data privacy.
About the HTML Formatter
The HTML Formatter takes minified or badly indented HTML and rewrites it with consistent indentation so the structure is easy to read and edit. Inline scripts and styles are formatted too.
Need the opposite? Minify mode removes comments and unnecessary whitespace between tags to shrink the markup for production, and shows how many bytes you saved.

Frequently asked questions
Will formatting change how my page looks?
Beautifying only changes whitespace between tags, which browsers mostly ignore. Content inside <pre> and <textarea> is preserved. Minifying can remove spaces between inline elements, so check pages that rely on that spacing.
Does it validate my HTML?
It is a formatter rather than a validator. It will indent unclosed or invalid markup as best it can, but for strict validation use the W3C Markup Validation Service.
Which engine is used?
Beautification uses the widely used open-source js-beautify library, the same engine behind many code editor extensions.
